Welcome to the MINNdependent | CARE Counseling Teacher + Educator Trainings

CARE Counseling, in collaboration with MINNdependent, is thrilled to announce continuing education that is approved by the Minnesota Board of School Administrators! We have developed ten online modules on social emotional learning (SEL) as well as self-resiliency practices that total six clock hours of approved continuing education! We are so excited to share this resource with you!

SEL provides a foundation for safe and positive learning, and enhances students' ability to succeed in school, careers, and life as well as provides additional support to yourself as an educator.

WHY SEL? :
ACADEMIC IMPROVEMENT: SEL Shown to raise students’ achievement scores by 11-17%.

FOSTERS POSITIVE ATTITUDES: Provides students a greater ability to properly manage stress and depression. As well as SEL provides students with a greater motivation to learn and teachers a deeper commitment to school.

LESS DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR: Schools who engage in SEL saw a 10% reduction in behavioral problems.

Accepting Differences Skills

Differences help teach children to respect others and learn to celebrate what makes each person unique. Being a teacher, you manage differences in the classroom on a daily basis, however children can often be unaware of the importance of learning about differences and how to treat others with kindness. Videos in this series will provide teachers an opportunity to help their students grow and learn about differences and ways to be respectful to others.
